Trålveien 16 is a former industrial site located directly east of Bodø. The measure transforms the property into a residential area with 17 terraced houses and 126 apartments, approximately 80 of which are care homes. The project takes the human scale into account and establishes pleasant, protected meeting places with buildings that are anchored locally with building typologies and use of colour.

The elongated plot invited the creation of two different yards, with contact between them. The tunnel formations provide shelter on the wind-exposed plot, with selected openings towards the sea view. The salt roofs are inspired by different local coastal architecture. Together with the use of colors from Bodø's own color palette, they provide variety and a humane environment, while at the same time giving a lot back to the surroundings - and appearing tailored both for its location and its users.
