NIELSTORP+ ARCHITECTS AT MIPIM HONG KONG
On Friday, 25th November Øyvind Neslein, partner at Niels Torp+, and architect Herman Hagelsteen traveled to Hong Kong to attend the MIPIM Asia Property Leaders' Summit – an international real estate and developer conference for the property industry. http://www.mipim-asia.com/
Both Øyvind and Herman have a wide network in both Hong Kong and China. Øyvind is project leader for China Easter Airlines head office in Shanghai (245,000m²) as well as several other urban design and landscape architecture projects in both Shanghai and Zhuhai. Herman has eight years of experience working in Hong Kong, several of which as project leader at the American company Arquitectonica.
In addition to the conference, the pair held several meetings with developers during their stay, presenting to companies such as Hongkong Land, Henderson Land Development, Hang Lung Properties, SWIRE Properties, and Lan Kwai Fong Group our architectural philosophy, past projects, our broad competence, and how we conduct our work in China. The meetings were very positive – the projects that held particular appeal were the master plan18 of Tjuvholmen and our open-plan office designs, demonstrating our relevance and potential in the Asian market. The trip was also a good chance to meet with Arup Aviation, our partners on the China Eastern Airlines head office project, to discuss plans for future collaboration.
We always love visiting Hong Kong and our enthusiasm has certainly not dampened after our successful trip in December, expanding our contact network and opportunities in this exciting part of the world.
